Hi Val - thank you for doing that for me. Looks like you are better at it than I am! Something went terribly wrong while I was doing it.
Anyway, if anyone can work out those last three names which could be Edward (have proof of Edward, born 1873). The second last name I have no idea. The last name I thought it could be Sarah, Janette or Janelle or something else completely.
Thank you to anyone who can work it all out.

Hi - I have just this moment found one of the name's I want which show up on the birth certificate that Valg sent and looks something like 'Barlo'.
The name is Kate Elizabeth. I have the birth certificate right next to my keyboard and decided to try again with the BDM of New Zealand. I left the name for the baby blank, showed the mother's name and the whole year of 1874 and up came Kate Elizabeth.
Just thought I would update you.

No one else seems to have commented, but I think the last name is Sarah. Only the strongest part of the pen strokes have been picked up in the copying. And I agree that Barlo is actually Kate, with a funny shaped K. pwholt

Hi pwholt - yes, I agree as per my posting of the 30th July that it could be Sarah with a couple of other possibilities. Unfortunately, so far, looking at the New Zealand BDM on line, I haven't been able to confirm that Sarah is right. In fact, it is not showing at all.
However, I couldn't find Kate Elizabeth at first and suddenly, there it was. I'm keeping on trying ! Thank you for your reply.

Hi Sandra,
I'm researching on behalf of my mum Margaret Stewart (Cooke) who is the daughter of Reginald Cooke/Stewart. He is noted as the brother of Edith Lily Cooke but actually he was her son. It seems that he was the result of a fairground affair before Edith Lily met her husband Charles J Neal.
Reg, being unwelcome in the household, (not Mr Neal but Edith) ran away to sea at 14 and changed his name to Stewart.
It seems you have the same great grandfather William Cook who was married to Louisa Jane Ames.
Margaret and I live in London.

My mum says: That Elizabeth Dillon is the person who my grandmother Edith Lily Cooke stayed with in London (to have her illegitimate baby Reg) where it is possible my Dad was born, even though it says Bristol on his certificate.
