My 3x grandfather was a Relieving Officer attached to the workhouse which was on Pinchbeck Road in Spalding. I understand that the building was still there as a hospital until about 1952. Does anyone have a photo of the building they could share with me please?

Thanks for the thought - I'm not quite ready for the House of Correction yet! Yes I have seen the info on that site.

Have you tried the Record Office? Local authorities often have extensive collections of photographs built up over the years for various reasons such as planning.
Have you also checked the Record Office for records of your ancestor?
On the subject of records, the National Archives is also a good source for administrative and staff related records. Series MH 12 and MH 9 are particularly useful for workhouse staff. There may be other series in Class MH that are useful, my memory is hazy on this.

I haven't been able to filter this advice because you haven't mentioned dates.

Thank you Peter. His name was Edward Storr and he was a Relieving Officer in Spalding from 1840/41 to sometime in the mid to late 1870s. He had certainly retired by 1881. He gave evidence to "The Royal Commission on the Engagement of Children and Young Persons and Women in Agriculture" in 1867. I'm going down to the NA on a different matter next month so I may be able to have a look for him too .. now I know where to look! Thanks again.
