Do you have a date for Frances? There are only about 10 Frances Marshes coming up in Lancashire.
Sadly, our dear friend Dorothy (alias Thomasin) passed away on Sunday, 17th. February, 2013.

Sadly no I just got her name from child Sarah's birth cert.
I think there is a younger sibling born 1838 so I can only guess at her BD of about 1818 or so

There are births for Jane and Sarah Marsh in 1838 and 1842 in both the Manchester and Prescot registration districts.
    Which pair are yours.

I am trying to prove that Jane 1838 is the sibling of Sarah whose mother was Frances.

Where was Sarah born, according to the birth certificate? This may help locate her on the census.

Ah, I see from your earlier thread, that the Jane Marsh you are looking for was born in St Helens. Is that what it says on Sarah's birth certificate too?

    Have you looked at 1841:H107 517 12

Prescot Workhouse, there is a Frances MARSH shown as aged 15 and a child Jane MARESH aged 15 months

Man oh man that is a good one.
I kinda thought Jane was Illegitimate and I know her sister was Sarah with a mother Frances!
There is a good 1838 FreeBMD that should be Jane.
One interesting thing is that both Jane and Sarah have the same father according to their Marriage Certs so Frances and this guy were a long term unwed item.
    Thank you so much
    Ken
