    1851 census. Living in Long Combes, Oxon.

    George Busby - 30. b. Combes. Occ. Gardener.
    Emma Busby - 30. b. Tetsworth.
    Emma R Busby - 8
    Thomas Busby - 6
    Martha Busby - 4
    Ann Busby - 1

    All children born Combes, Oxon.

    ====================================

    It is likely Thomas Busby was married before, considering ages of children in 1871 census.

    This Harriet is possibly still unmarried in 1901 and 1911. There's a Harriet E. Busby (27, born Stokenchurch), a servant, in Rotherfield Peppard in 1901. She appears to still be in that area in 1911, though apparently having aged only 6 years since the previous census. (This is from LDS transcripts, so I don't have the reference numbers, sorry.) I can't see the full entry to check her marital status, though.

    There is an Edith H Bushby b.1874, Stokenchurch, with the same Minnett family in 1891.

    Oh dear.....this could all be wrong.

    Until sammysaid has a marriage certificate we're working in the dark: there are a lot of Busbys in this neck of the woods. And quite a lot of people hunting Busby ancestors too, to judge from the Oxfordshire Surname Interest List:

    Also it's probably nothing but the name Leonard seems to be a relevant christian name later on in Edith's life so I'm thinking there was perhaps a Leonard Busby in her earlier life???
    Bit of a grab in the dark....

    Now this is interesting. Their son Wilfred E Harnett was baptised 24th June 1900 in Piddington, Oxfordshire.

    William Edward, son of William & EMILY Harnett. Brass finisher of Queens Road, Battersea, London. Born 24th May.

    Obviously, he was the child that had died before 1911 census.

    I would hazard a guess, that Piddington, Buckinghamshire is a pup.
