There seems to be a lot more forums than there used to be.
Is there anyway to organise so that the forums you use most are currently interested in come to the top of the page when you log in / visit the general forum ?
There seem to be two forums for Cornwall.
I had trouble finding the County forums such as Herefordshire which I used to use a lot as they seem to be in a mass at the bottom of the forum.
There seem to be private forums such as for a Gloucester Group, which need a special password.
Is this a private membership within the BG forum set up?
Have found this forum very friendly and helpful in past but getting confused now.

Hi Sloop - I will take the points that you have raised one at a time and hopefully will be able to help.
Nope – still the same number. In fact, I think that there could be one or two less. For example, there is just the one forum for Yorkshire instead of it being split into the 3 Ridings. There seems to be a lot more forums than there used to be.
No. The forum is in a set format and cannot be changed. However, you can always click on the "subscribe to this forum" option that appears in the main forum menu.Is there anyway to organise so that the forums you use most are currently interested in come to the top of the page when you log in / visit the general forum ?
There are? I can only see one. There seem to be two forums for Cornwall.
Are you using Internet Explorer? I find that, if I do, the sub-forums are a complete mess and run into each other. I have therefore downloaded Firefox and have no problems. Also, over to the right of each subject bar there is a little arrow. Use this to collapse the forums so that they do not take up so much room. They are much easier to navigate then.I had trouble finding the County forums such as Herefordshire which I used to use a lot as they seem to be in a mass at the bottom of the forum.
These are password protected forums for the use of family history societies and/or groups and their members. There seem to be private forums such as for a Gloucester Group, which need a special password.

I am pleased that you are finding the forum to be helpful but disappointed that you are getting confused. Hopefully, the explanations that I have offered above will help, and so may the stickies at the top of this forum.Have found this forum very friendly and helpful in past but getting confused now. I'm still mainly using (due to laziness) I Explorer. I don't find these Counties any different than they have always been. :

By way of further explanation: if you go to your User Control Panel (User CP in the dropdown menu on Quick Links above) you will see a list of the forums you have subscribed to, rather than a list of all forums. As an added bonus, subscribing means you can get email notifications when there are new messages. Both these features make it easier to keep track of what you're most interested in.
