I am inclined to agree with you Colin, I don't think you could have put it better ....
no matter how hard you tried.

Now, now - this is just a warm up and practice for 2014. "Roy's Boys" will win it all!!!!

According to ESPN it was an exciting game - perhaps they were watching a replay of an earlier game such as Spain v Ireland

Over paid, under worked, and over there. Suits me.

The only highlight is Theo Walcott.

The best game to my little mind!!

Wayne missed several golden opporunities, but finally connected
Scott Parker played like a man possessed - sacrificed his body and was a 9 in my book.
Defence was pretty decent and Hart was a bit off in his game.
Theo never was a factor - but he was only on for a bit.

7 points out of 9 isn't shabby, even though the competition wasn't tough

My bet is still in the pot!!

and here was I looking forward to the possibility of an England - Germany final. It would have brought back some wonderful memories of the 1970 game.

Sorry sweet, but I think it was England vs. West Germany - FIFA World Cup 1966 - and England won 4-2. Geoff Hurst scored 3 and he was brilliant. I remember the game well - as I was watching from my hospital bed in Toronto after having had my left knee rebuilt.

    Maybe in 2014!!!

This series - Germany vs. Spain - and Germany to win. The score will be 3-1.

In 1966 I was driving up to Scotland listening to the match on the radio. Then 4 years later I was in Germany and the match actually took place whilst I was a guest at a party, the only non-German there. Everything, except the drinking, stopped. The following morning I sat at the table. took one look at my breakfast and had to walk away. No wonder I'm teetotal now.

So you saw a replay, while I saw in live - as close as I could get - and the pain in my knee disappeared without the need of any medication. In actual fact there was some [2 doctors joined me for the extra time], and as they were off-shift [the screens were pulled around my bed & the TV] and we killed 6 beers.

1970 was I think in Mexico and Brazil beat Italy 4-1.

Whenever it was, it was a long time ago and I've grown old waiting for a repeat.
