SOSA ???

Does anyone know what SOSA stands for? I am currently researching French Genealogy, and have come across these initials several times, but cannot find their meaning. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

This possibly relates to the Sosa Method or the Sosa-Stradonitz System of numbering ancestors. Have a look here:-

My family history program has an option for ahnentafel reports. Now I know why I have never used it

I don't know who submitted the Wikipedia article but I've never seen something so simple described in such a complicated manner.

It is rather and I think you should go and improve the article Graham.

The first question is easy.

With the exception of the home person (#1) who could be male or female, all males in an ahnentafel chart are even numbers while all females are odd (numbers that is) so it has to be b.my mother's mother's father

The last question ... It's definitely male
