    Default Cumbria VIPONDs

Please help I am lost amongst the many many Isaac VIPONDs in 1790s Cumbria
I am looking for the original immigrants to Canada; Isaac and Henrietta VIPOND
Can someone direct me to an online parish records resource for Cumbria? An 1814ish marriage would help greatly.
    Thank you

familysearch.org has several baptisms around this period but nothing that can be pinned down.My best guess is Alston baptism as subsequent census do not have all three. When did Isaac emmigrate and any indication of where in Cumberland he was from?

Do you know when they immigrated to Canada - http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/022/index-e.html - has a lot of info on immigration though the earlier it is the less there is as well as other links that could be useful. The passenger info can be invaluable with birth dates, location and next of kin.

While I have no idea where they actually came from I have been investigating Cumbria for some time because of the numerous VIPONDs from there. I have them in southern ON in 1842

I did a quick search at the link I gave you and found Henrietta in census 1861 and 1851 in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. Says she was born in 1797 in Scotland and a widow in 1861. Would this be the correct person? Do you have birth dates to help identify if we are on the right track??

    I have seen 1851 but not 1861.
You know, I really cannot say as I have no parental names for my definite ancestor from the same area.
    She just fits.
1842 Assessment Rolls only list head of household but one person is from Scotland which does help.
I have never found any connections to all those VIPONDs in QC so perhaps Cumbria is actually wrong.
