HELP..!! Missing person on 1901 & 1911 census

The marriage is on Ancestry London Marriages and there is no occupation given for the deceased Thomas, so no help there.

I’ve had a look at all the other Arthur Thomas Wilsons born between 1893 and 1897 and none of them seems to have as good a case as Pontefract Arthur, but I may be wrong.

Having said all that I’ve found a problem – I can’t find a possible death for Arthur’s father Thomas Robinson Wilson until March Quarter 1933 in Pontefract. And it was looking so good....

3 kids born in Camberwell to this couple between 1920 and 1927. He died J-M 1971 in Pontefract. She died Worthing A-J 1992 if born about 1902.

Could he have been 'estranged' from his father and didn't want him involved in the wedding? Or could the father have been ill and rather than confess to his bride he just said that he was deceased?

Grasping at straws to make the circumstances fit.

Definitely not if he was hoping for some paternal cash to see them started on married life - he was a Yorkshireman after all!!

krismil, do you have any other information that may help us to identify the right Arthur?

For example, do you know when/where he died? If it was in or after 1969 there should be a date of birth in the GRO death index. Have you checked the local newspaper for an obituary and/or funeral report? Sometimes these give crucial clues to family connections.

Do you have any clues as to his war-time activity (medals, discharge papers, photos of him in uniform, etc.?).

I think Arthur T Wilson died Sutton RD Sep Quarter 1966 aged 72 as there is a Probate Register Entry in 1966 - Arthur Thomas Wilson of 61 Cardinal Avenue, Morden, Surrey died 30 August 1966 at St Helier Hospital, Carshalton, Surrey.
Probate London 11 November to Vera Constance Wilson, widow, and Douglas Arthur Wilson, diamond setter. £5247.

Vera died in Bromley RD (Kent) in June Q 1982. Date of Birth 20 November 1894.
