1. Get a copy of the death certificate to see who registered the death and where the deceased was last living.
2. Check local newspapers to see if there is a funeral notice or obituary,
3. Check details of any surviving spouse/children to see if a burial may have been likely near to where they lived.
4. Scour the church and cemetery burial registers in the location of where they are likely to have been buried e.g. nearest to their home or where they were last living or where their spouse/children/next of kin was living at the time.

Also, depending on how long ago they may have died, there are FreeBMD and the more complete versions on the pay sites.
