Yes, the apparent birth year of farmer John varies a bit between the 1841, 1851 and 1861 censuses, but that's not unusual. I do think farmer John is John 1 and not John 2.
I don't know if the 1841 Lambeth John is one of mine - his occupation has been crossed through and I can't read it (although it may not be of any help if I could!).
There are far too many Rogers around at the same time in the right places...
I'm going to be in a computer-free zone for a few days - I'll check further when I can setback online again.

Thanks to a correspondent on a Sydenham online forum, I now know that the John Rogers at Selhurst Farm is NOT the one baptised in 1803 (son of Richard and Ruth Rogers) and not, therefore, "one of mine".
Still no further forward in that case!
