The December 1982 Coventry Telephone Directory shows a C.C. Long living at 55/1 Abbey Court, Coventry. Google Maps shows Abbey Court as being in Whitley and so there must be a good chance this is where Cyril lived then (for what that's worth!).

Yes, thank you Malcolm. The enquirer is my Aunty in Australia (who is currently over here, doing the rounds, visiting us all). She has been to see us but is popping back before she flies back in early July.

I posted on here a while ago about Aunty Marion (or aunty Nin as she was to us)

The thread can be found HERE

It turns out that the man she married had 3 first names and the surname Willis. Somehow they have counted his 3rd name as his surname. My cousin who's father it was has told me his full name but between seeing her and getting home I lost the paperwork.

There will be other hatch, match and despatches so I'll get to ask again.

55/1 Abbey Court, Coventry was a block of flats. I remember staying there when I was about 8 (mumble mumble years ago) for my cousins wedding. I had never seen 'flats' before, me being a country lad, quite a shock as I remember.

Aunty Nin should have got there by now. She died 19 Dec 2000 . It's her sister (another aunty) who is visiting us.

    13th floor . I don't like hights.

Correction to age, just looked at the date of the wedding, I was only 6

Oh, please forgive me Terry; I got all confused. No offence intended. Perhaps I should give up this game if I've started getting names wrong!!

Don't worry about it Malcolm. It was my fault, I've just reread what I wrote and I see now how it happened.

I wasn't offeneded in the least. Neither would Aunty Nin, she would have found it quite a giggle.

Received Hazel Chisholm Long's birth certificate today.

We have got the correct parents.

Born 6th January 1914, 41 Aytoun Road, Stockwell
    Registered 16th September 1914

Just over 8 months between birth and registration.

Father Robert John Long, Timber Traveller
Mother Harriette Ethel Chisholm, Formally Lapper.

in those 8 months they had moved to 14 Hayford Avenue, South Lambeth.

So now I know for sure that the information everybody on here found for me is 100% correct.

Thank you all very much indeed.

I really don't want anything off my cousin for doing this. I've enjoyed the chase immensely. But if she insists, I'll ask for copies of any certificates she has. At least her Mum n Dads BMD's

Well I am the family record keeper after all

    Terry
