    Ah right

So it's Jane A CHISHOLM not Jane H CHISHOLM, stupid FMP

Although, my Jane was born Edinburgh

The Bethlem Royal Hospital was a hospital for the treatment of mental illnesses wasn't it?

    Thank you Nicolina

I posted the 1871 details for Alexander back in post 21.
I made a typo. I've just checked and it is Jane H. in 1851

So it would appear that the researchers findings are a little out.

I have been able to find the 2 pictures (The Cut Foot - 1823 and The Pedlar) by Alexander Chisholm in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Says artist lived 1792-1847

So these are paintings by Alexander Cameron Chisholms father.

Other pictures by the same artist (not found copies on-line yet)

Boys with a Burning Glass. 1822.

Baptism of Ben Jonson's Daughter 1837.

King Alfred parting his remaining loaf with a poor pilgrim. 1841

The Lords of the Congregation taking the oath of the Covenant. 1842.

The Minister and his Wife concealing the Scottish Regalia in the Church (his last work). 1846.

with one further painting attributed to him - A Scottish Tale (have copy)

    Right, time for bed
