This post is a follow on from the 'Judah Jacobs and Jacques Daniel Myers' post and provides data on the relationship between Judah Jacobs alias Jacques Daniel Myers and his marriage to Rose Florence Boss in 1888. The data looks at the links between the Boss/Nathan/Myers/Beyfus/Jacobs lines through marriage. My own interest is the relationship between Jacobs/Boss and Myers in so far as I have Jacobs and Myers paternal lines described in many previous posts. In addition, the relationship between Jacobs/Nathan/Levy lines has also been posted on.
It is not my intention to go into significant detail on the Boss/Nathan lines because there are several family trees on the lines in the public domain but i will provide an overview:
The American First Jewish Families ( Stern ) Collection has data on the Nathan/Boss line through the marriage of Moses Nathan ( son of Nathan the Scribe of Amsterdam) to 1 Amelia ? died 1808 and 2 Eave dau of Samuel of Mayence. Juliet Nathan 1774-1862 was the daughter of Amelia and she married Abraham Isaac Boss. Cemetery scribes have Person ID 11979 Abraham Isaac Boss died 1844 age 73 on their site.
Doreen Berger 'The Jewish Victorian.Genealogical Information from the Jewish Newspapers 1861-70' Robert Boyd Publisher 2004 P47 has the death entry for Juliet..Death 20.11.1862 62 City Road relict of Mr A I Boss in the 90th year of her age. There are further entries on the same page for other Boss relatives. The City of London Freedom of the City Admissions Papers record- Isaac Abraham Boss 24 Oct 1856 ( son of Abraham Isaac Boss late of City Road Diamond Merchant) occupying premises 6 Bury St St.Mary Axe.
Synagogue Scribes site has HSM 108 and HSM 249 references to the marriages of Sophia Boss and Isaac Abraham Boss- Isaac married Rose Alexander in 1836. The 1861 Census RG 9 148 49 22 (Crown Copyright,TNA) 16 Nelson Terrace Islington has Juliet Boss H Widow 90 b Amsterdam;Lewis A Boss son M 49 Dealer in Precious Stones b Surrey, Borough
