Hello,
I found this site via a google search, whilst looking for the Jowcey family, from Northumberland.
Someone had posted a thread asking for information about Esther Jowcey their 5x Great Grandmother, however I was unable to find the post on this forum .
As Esther Jowcey was my 5x Great Grandmother, I hoped we might be able to share info, although I have hit a brick wall with her .I do know she was born in Wallsend in 1750,and married to James Jubbs.
Marie.

Further to my post re Esther Jowcey,I certianly need some help here,as am trying to climb a very longstanding brickwall.
I have found the marriage record for Esther Jowcey`s marriage to James Jubbs in August 1774 ,at St Andrews Newcastle on Tyne .I have been looking for her birth, for ages with no result. I guess she must have been born around 1750,and probably somewhere in Northumberland.Anyone any ideas please.
Marie.

Depending on how the name JOWCEY would have been pronounced . . . one possibility might be Esther JOYCE (daughter of William Joyce) baptised at Newcastle St Andrew on 24 February 1754 according to FamilySearch (film nos 0095010-0095013; from the FamilySearch catalogue these appear to be parish register transcripts).
Potentially Esther's baptism could slot in between some baptisms where the father is shown as William JOWCEY or JOWCY, namely James (1751), George (1756), Ann (1759), William (1760) and another James (1763).
You may be able to rule this Esther out if she died young, or perhaps rule her in if she turns up (as Esther Jubbs) at a witness to a sibling's marriage.
