    Default Trove-Australian Digitalised Records

Don't know if this ones been posted before, but if you've Australian connections if might be useful.

One section contains digitalised newspapers from Australia, and is free to search and view. It's extremely well set up. Although it uses OCR to read the print and has numerous error, it also allows you to edit the text that has been read.

    Thanks for that Gerald,
It is a very useful resource and it's growing "like topsy" as people load their own images from Flickr to Picture Australia and create their own lists - including those for their family history. (It also has a Forum.) Because of Australia's links to the Commonwealth, there are often Commonwealth funeral announcements (from 'home') so it is worth looking there (although Google will search it for any hits.) Jane
