George & Elizabeth KEHLER

I am trying to trace George and Elizabeth Kehler and wonder if anyone can help me please.

They had 6 children –Catherine (1849), Margaret (1851), Elizabeth (1854), George (1856), Louisa (1859) and Alice (1863)

I can find birth records for George jnr, Louisa and Alice but not the older 3.

I can find the family on the 1861 census in Oswestry and I have George jnrs birth certificate from 1856 and they were in Oswestry then, but cant find any records on them before then.

Some census records say George and Elizabeth came from Germany, others say Oswestry. There are a few different variations of their surname (Keelan, Keeley, Kehler, Kebler, Kehlor and Keeler)

Can anyone help to find this family before 1856 as I am going round in circles with it now. Thanks in advance.

I can't even find them in 1861. Could you please let us have the census reference for this one? Also George senior's year of birth, because that would be very helpful!

For the benefit of anyone helping
In 1861 they lived in Willow Street.
FMP transcribes the name as HECTOR with young George and another son Lawrence age 2 being transcribed as RESLAN
Ancestry gives them as KEELAN.

Sorry, I cannot find them.
I can see what is probably the death of Elizabeth in 1881 and George in 1883. I can also see them after 1861.
The marriages of George, Alice and Louisa are probably the ones in Oswestry where the family seemed to stay.

The one I cannot find and would really like to, is Catherine. She should be on the 1851, could be married by 1871 but no sign of her.

I wonder if they did come from Germany and were there prior to the 1861?

George snr was born abt 1824 in Germany.

I have a birth record for George KEELAN in 1856. I have the birth certificate and it states his mothers maiden name was DAVIES, so not sure how that ties in with her being from Germany too..

Louisas birth is listed as KEELEY in 1959 and Alices as KEHLER in 1863.

'The one I cannot find and would really like to, is Catherine. She should be on the 1851, could be married by 1871 but no sign of her' - yes this is what is confusing me too.

Elizabeth and George died 1881 and 1883 and listed as KEHLER.

It is Caroline and not Catherine, but apart from that it could be the same people???

Very possible, closest I've seen.

I could not see any clues in the 1881 either, widowed George was living with young George and Alice but there were a Davies family next door.
