Hi there

I have been researching my family tree lines for about 8 years now and I never tire of it!
I have tried to follow 8 lines (each grandparents parents) and have had quite a bit of sucess in tracing
back on all lines to the late 1700s. This would not have been possible without ..the internet,family history societies local look up services and wonderful people out there who are happy to share their linked info and of course websites like these. I have a few 'brick walls' and so its great to find sites like this where other people can give their advice on other ways or places to look. Cant wait to get started... Karen

Gravesend? hmmm! a lot of history there and I imagine you know why it was named so ....
but it may not be the place of your family origins.

I'll keep my eye out on the Kentish forum and see if you pop up!

Love your user name...I wonder if you are in the same boat as me..lots of strays? Maybe it is the Hillyer name that attracks them only my branch used the Hillier spelling but also from Gravesend. A family of watermen...
Hopefully the folks here can help you out and you get your brick walls broken. Mind you, once one wall tumbles we always move on to something else and can find another wall just as solid
