    Default What happened to Gt-Grand-uncle?

His name was William Jory and he was born 1875 in St. Allen, Cornwall.

He married Margaretta Long in 1895 in Redruth, Cornwall and they had 4 children - Clarenda, William John, Percy and Olive. The 1901 census refernce is RG13, Piece 2239, Folio 96, Page 39. I cannot make out his occupation or address from the image on A. and he isn't on FMP where I hoped for a clearer record.

1911 census has Margaretta with Clarenda, William John and Olive - Percy died in 1906 - living at Barracks Row, Reduth as transcribed on FMP but William isn't there. She [Margaretta] confirms they are still married.

In 1916 in Redruth, Margaretta married James E. Gray. I don't have the marriage certificate to confirm her condition and it'll take 2 weeks for me to get it from GRO. Margaretta died in Redruth in 1922 aged 44.

I found a W.W.1 service record for a William Jory but the age is wrong and he has a different spouse. This was on A. and is dated 1915.

I cannot find a death for him either.

Apart from getting the marriage certificate for Margaretta's marriage in 1916, what other suggestions are there?

    Colin

Thanks Mark - how did I miss that one?

Can you find him in 1911?

The address looks like Matthews Court, Falmouth Rd. and his occupation looks like 'tin miner'.

    Best wishes
    Ann
