Eliza Herbert was b.23 Nov 1879 St. George in the East.
Her parents were Samuel & Sarah Herbert.
1881 Age 1 she is a boarder with George & Ellen Cavanagh & family.
1891 Age 11 she is with her father Samuel & Grandparents Samuel & Eliza Herbert.
1901 Age 21 she is a boarder again with the Doughty family.
By this time her Grandparents have died and possibly her Father also.
I don't know what happened to her mother Sarah. In 1891 Samuel is Married although I haven't found a marriage.
Haven't found a marriage for Eliza either.
If anyone could find Sarah, Eliza's marriage or her in 1911 I'd be very grateful.

A quick question.
Is Sarah the daughter of Samuel and Eliza baptised at St George in the East on 3 Dec 1854?
Was she Sarah Ann Louisa Herbert?
P.S. Forget this question. See post #6

June, I've moved the thread to Middlesex, it is where anyone looking for the family will need to start, so you may get more help.
It would come under Tower Hamlets.

Mutley
Samuel was the son of Samuel & Eliza Herbert.
Sarah was his wife and I haven't found out what her surname was as I can't find the marriage.
It's a tricky one this isn't it.
I did find a school admission for Eliza in 1885 and her address was her Grandparents address where she was in 1891.

What do you know about Sarah before her marriage to Samuel Herbert?
What was her maiden name and where and when was she born?
Sorry, I mucked up in the post above, the parents were Samuel and Eliza but they must have been the parents of Sarah's husband, Samuel.
P.S. Sorry we crossed posts and I should have fallen in before now.

There's a birth registration for an Eliza Herbert in March quarter 1880 St George in the East registration district.
Just squeezes into the 42 days allowed to register a birth.
You could send for that birth certificate specifying that the parents must be Samuel and Sarah, and see what clues that might yield.
If it's another Eliza with different parents, then you won't be charged.
