in my family tree I have James Butler b.1772 -d.1828 having children James (1800), John (1802), Sarah (1804), Benjamin Westhope Butler (1807), Richard James (1814). We might presume james wife maiden name is Westhope.
This is in the Margate/Deal/Isle of Thanet part of Kent. how do i get to find out his wifes christian and maiden name?
Stephen Saffin.

The IGI is full of member submitted records for the Butlers but I did find this extracted record, derived from Bishop's transcripts.

Richard James Butler baptised Deal kent 1814-parents James and Ann
Benjamin Westrope Butler baptised Deal Kent -1807-James and Ann
William Wardle Buttler Deal Kent 1809 James and Ann
As there are only abt 10 mls between Deal and Barham the marriage noted for James Butler and Ann Keeler looks promising...the first baptism for this couple appears to be abt 1800 so a good fit.
