Yes he's mine. Son of James and Rose.
Thank you very much Rebecca.
Terry
I wonder if he is the Edward H Pressdee who married Hilda Thrippleton in Upper Armley, Christ Church in the Sept qtr of 1924.
Although, Christ Church is in the Bramley district of West Riding of Yorkshire so maybe not.

When I put 'All Types' into FreeBMD for Edward H Pressdee I only got 3 hits. one was his Uncle who died in 1890, one his birth and a marriage in 1924.
Thing is, I don't know if he ever married?
Thank you for looking.

Terry, any day will do: the 1st of April is known as "All Fools Day" - very suitable for a cheeky monkey!
Your welcome.

Terry, there’s always this as a line to explore>
1. FreeBMD Deaths 1949: for some reason as well as Rose, there is a Rosamund Pressdee – obviously the same person.
2. 1881 Census: RG11/2620 fol. 6 p. 4.
Address: Mainstone, Clun, Shropshire
Thomas Robinson, Head, age 58, Farmer of 250 acres, born Mainstone, Shropshire
Elizabeth Robinson, wife, age 41, Farmer’s wife, born Moore, Shropshire
ROSA Robinson, daughter, single, age 20, Farmer’s daughter, born [?]ton [probably ACTON which is next to Brockton], Shropshire
John, son, 19, Farmer’s son, born Brockton, Shropshire
Richard, son, 17, Farmer’s son, born Brockton, Shropshire
Joseph, son, 16, Farmer’s son, born Brockton, Shropshire
Elizabeth, daughter, 14, Farmer’s daughter, born Brockton, Shropshire
William, son, 13, scholar, born Brockton, Shropshire
Lottie, daughter, 11, scholar, born Brockton, Shropshire
Sarah, daughter, 8, scholar, born Brockton, Shropshire
Jessie, daughter, 6, scholar, born Brockton, Shropshire
3. 1871 Census: RG10/2733 fol. 19 p.12
Address: Brockton Village, Lydbury North, Clun, Shropshire
Thomas Robinson, Head, age 48, Beerhouse Keeper, born Mainstone, Shropshire
Elizabeth Robinson, wife, age 34, born Moore, Shropshire
Thomas Robinson, son, 14, scholar, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
ROSA Robinson, daughter, age 10, scholar, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
John, son, 9, scholar,, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
Richard, son, 7, scholar, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
Joseph, son, 6, scholar, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
Elizabeth, daughter, 4, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
William, son, 3, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
Lotty, daughter, 6 months, born Lydbury North, Shropshire
There are obvious anomalies I know, but it may be worth looking at more closely.
Later: Sorry, I forgot to say that if James Pressdee was born in Clunbury, Salop (see 1901 Census) then Clunbury is only a short hike (3-4 miles) over the hill to Acton & Brockton.
Maybe Broseley's a red herring.

Thank you Malcolm, Lydbury North, Acton and Brockton are all nearby districts to where James was from. James and his siblings were born Wistanstow, Clunbury and Hopesay.
There's a great possibility that you've found the correct family.
Thank you again

I know this is an old thread but would like some clarification on a point if possible.
On freebmd there are to entries for a death in 1949 in Liverpool but with 2 different first names.
Deaths Jun 1949
Pressdee Rosamund 86 Liverpool S. 10d 554a
Pressdee Rose 86 Liverpool S. 10d 554a
I have looked at the originals and they are both there right next to each other. They both have the same volume and page number.
Anyone got any ideas why this would be?

Hi Terry
I would think this is purely because Rose was known as both Rose and Rosamund and possibly paperwork given to register the death would have reflected this.
Only recently I noticed that the register entry for my marriage in fact has has two entries with different spellings. Having looked at my marriage certificate ( which has probably not seen the light of day for 30 years) this has my husband recorded with "our surname also known as......." .a slightly different spelling. As he was not born in this county I assume that proof we had to provide at the time had it recorded differently.
