Thank you very much Malcolm, that's great. I'm just trying to write all this up to give to my cousin. Didn't realise just how much information I had.
Thank you again.

What year were Stuart and Brian born in, the reason I'm asking is that someone found my grandfather's aunt and her husband on the electoral roll and it appears that my grandfather was included on the roll at the address in 1929 (he would have been 9 years old).

Hi Robin
Stuart was born 1934 so he was 24
Brian was born 1937 and he was 22
I'm not sure what the voting age was back then, was it 18 or 21.

I wonder if it might have been my great grandfather who was listed on the electoral roll of 1929 then even though he died in 1928.

Hi RobinC. I have been given to understand [and maybe some confirmation here may be forthcoming] that the Rolls were completed late in the year prior to publication and that it was the respomsibilty of the family to inform authorities compiling the Rolls in order that a deceased person would not be included.
Possibly he died late in 1928 and the family forgot.
