William Albert LOWE and his wife Mary Ann (nee BLOOM) had five children. Arthur Albert and Katie Mary Ann both died from meningitis in teenage years. Ernest Edward LOWE (1866-1954) was born in Stevens Street, Lowestoft, joined the RN and was awarded the first DSC, he retired in 1924 as a Lieutenant Commander and was my gt-grandfather. Another son, Cecil Augustus Gerald (1878-1927) lived in Norwich and his descendents have been traced.

The last son is a bit of a mystery, Victor Alfred LOWE (1868-1950) was a fisherman working out of Lowestoft - his working life in trawlers has been traced until he was injured and then worked on land. He married Amelia Minnie COLEMAN in 1891. The 1901 the census records him as a Batteryman at a Teletgraph Office and died at Beccles in 1950. It would be interesting to find out if he had any children - if you read this and happent o have had a gt (gt) grandfather called Victor Alfred LOWE, please get in touch.
