Baptisms at the church of St George Hanover Square before 1800 are currently not accessible anywhere except Westminster City Archives. There are no LDS films of the parish registers.

You could either wait for FMP to upload the registers (probably won't be long, as mentioned above), or pay to have research done at the archives. Sorry.

The baptism of Mary Ann Lane was on May 28, 1775 in St. Mary Whitechapel. She was the daughter of William and Elizabeth. In the same parishm there is a baptism for whom I believe is her sister - Elizabeth - on January 12, 1772.

I can find no other baptisms for this couple in the remainder of the 1770's.

Can we track a marriage for William Lane to an Elizabeth [?] around the time of the 1st baptism? I have a possible one - William Lane and Elizabeth Cooley - on November 3, 1771 in St. Andrew Holborn, but am not sure of the proximity of this parish to St. Mary Whitechapel.

Not sure about this, Colin, as I'm afraid I know very little about London research and areas of London. However, looking at Ancestry's London Parish Registers there do seem to be several William LANE's having children in Holborn from 1760 onwards including a William & Elizabeth with children from 1777 to 1786 at least (this is the timescale I searched for) and then other William LANE's having children in St Mary Whitechapel from 1751 onwards, including your William & Elizabeth's two baptisms in 1772 & 1775. There is a baptism of a William LANE on 8 November 1752 at St Mary Whitechapel son of John & Mary, Church Lane, which may be your William father of Mary Ann and there is also a baptism at St Andrew Holborn on 24 May 1751 of a William LANE son of James & Jane which could perhaps be the William LANE having children in Holborn but is difficult to prove one way or the other.

There is a burial at St Mary Whitechapel on 4 July 1784 of a William LANE, Whites Yard, aged 62, Dropsy which could very well be relevant in some way as Whites Yard is the address shown on the baptismal record of Mary Ann LANE in 1774.

It might be worth your while going through the parish records of St Mary Whitechapel via Ancestry to try to build up some family trees of LANE's in the parish and see if you can fit your William & Elizabeth in there somehow.
