Balaclava, Elsternwick & Brighton are all suburbs of Melbourne within 20 minutes of the city centre. Nowadays they would be just about considered as inner southern suburbs.

Having these threads out here for other people to find or for internet search engines to archive is a godsend. This morning I received a pm through this site from Bernard Palmer's Gt Grandson in Australia. I noticed from his profile that he only joined today, possibly in order to contact me. I'm very excited after all these years to finally make contact with my husbands Australian cousins.
