Does anyone have access to burial records? I am trying to whittle down a long list of potential deaths for Mary Hollins.
Details she was born 1813 Mary Davenport and married William Hollins in 1834. She is on the 1841 census with him but by 1851 William is living with Hannah Mills (wife of Faithfull Mills) as his wife, all the children are there and I can not find Mary elsewhere on census (well there are a lot of Mary's but none which seem to fit) so I am presuming she died in the intervening years in BMD records there are 6 potential Mary's who died in 1841, 1843, 1848 (April), 1848 (Jan) and 1849. I have bought the first two but they are not her. If I can at least match ages then it gives me something to go on.

You haven't specified a location but I'm guessing you are referring to the Mary HOLLINS referred to in this thread (post #12), who lived in Longton in Staffordshire (Stoke-Upon-Trent registration district.)
There are three burials on Family Search for a Mary HOLLINS at Longton.
Mary HOLLINS buried on 11 Oct 1841 was born abt 1801.
Mary HOLLINS buried on 28 Sep 1844 was born abt. 1778.
This one looks closer..
name: Mary Hollins
gender: Female
burial date: 30 Jan 1848
burial place: Longton, Stafford, England
age: 34
birth date: 1814

You are right I should have mentioned that it was in Stoke-on-Trent.
Also I reckon you are right about the third one too (1848) thank you.
While I am on the subject, the first one you mentioned was for Mary Hollins who died 5 Oct 1841 at Lane End. She is recorded as the wife of William Hollins, Potter (I have the certificate) but her age is given as 46 which makes her far to old for the Mary of my original inquiry. However I wonder if she might be the Mary Hollins who was the mother of William Hollins and wife of his father, also called William Hollins, a potter who resided at Marsh St, Lane End. However she was born abt 1778 and would have been 63 (her census age) or 64 at the time of death. Is it likely that they got the age wrong? Writing 46 instead of 64?
