    Default Looking for John Cox

This page is probably the wrong place for COX family search as it seems no one else here is searching for the Cox surname, but we'll try anyway.

My family line runs through John Cox married to Mary Bryant on June 1, 1787 in St Vigor Church in Stratton on the Fosse. She was born July 1764 in Stratton on the Fosse and her parents were Joseph Bryant and Mary Marchant (married in 1751). No progress beyond here. Since I'm stuck on the Bryant/Marchant line, I decided instead, to search for the parents of John Cox. He was born circa 1765. Beyond his marriage to Mary Bryant, I'm lost. I know they had at least 6 children, but other than their baptism records, there is no information there to help find John Cox's parents. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this post.

Just moved the thread over to the Somerset forum so that those members with a knowledge of the county can get their teeth into it.

There are transcripts of St Vigors http://http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/...tonOnTheFosse/ which might help.

Also Ian Sage's pages of Somerset PR on line :

Thank you Anne, both for your quick response and for the suggestions for searching. I will burrow through these web pages until I exit somewhere..
