    Default Davies Family Oswestry/Montgomeryshire

    Hello,
I am trying to find information on my grandfather's family. The last residence I can find is in Whittington, Oswestry, Shropshire 1891 census. My grandfather was Alfred E Davies b:1886 died 1975 Massachusetts, USA . Alfred's sister Emily b 1890 married John Phillips and was living in Woolston, Oswestry in 1913
Would like to find records / family members connected to this family. Also would like to know where this family is after 1891 and information on John Davies b 1850 Montgomeryshire. What happenned to John, Hannah, Thomas & Louisa??
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hi Laurette and welcome to Brit-Gen

Threads in the Surname Interests forum are only for letting us know the names of those families you are researching and are closed after the first post.

Because yours is a specific query I have moved it so our members have the opportunity to help. As your query relates to both the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire areas I have placed it for the time being in our General Family History Queries Forum. We can however move it again later if it seems appropriate to do so.

    Laurette,

Davies in Wales a difficult combination to search, do you have any more info to help us locate the correct family?

What is the 1891 cesus ref and who are John, Hannah, Thomas and Louisa?

Thank you for offering to help! As for the Davies family referenced in the 1891 census, I would like to know any further information on John & Hannah, and also what happenned to the other children. I found Emily married to John Phillips and living at St Winifred's Wells House in a letter to my grandfather Alfred in 1913 and in the 1911 census. I would also be interested in any marriage and death records for John, Hannah and their children as well as where they may be buried. I am hoping to connect to some cousins & someday visit my grandfather's birthplace and great grandparents' graves. I am truly grateful for any help.

Louisa doesnt appear with a middle initial on 1891 census, but there is a Louisa Ann Davies married a John Evans 1904 Owestry.
She is listed simply as Louisa in 1911 her birth place of Whittington 1884 matches with your Louisa. Son John Ernest brn 1806 Whittington..Checking 1891 there are 2 louisa's no middle initial noted, both brn Whittington yours born 1883 and another brn 1882, cant find either in 1901.
