Missing Nightingale

Hi all!

Am hoping some super person may be able to help me out with this one.

I have been on the Hunt of this man through ancestry and the IGI allllll Day with no Luck what so ever.

Am beginning to think that i cant see the wood for the trees haha.

SO... I have William Nightingale Born 1832 (give or take) born in Eckington (information taken from Census)

I have a Wife Emma Naylor, whom he married in 1875 in Chesterfield. William was a widow at this point so i know there is another marriage out there somewhere.

I cannot for the life of me find this Man on the 1841 Census (i want his Mum and Dad Badly) Nor can i find a Birth for him. Am beginning to wonder if he was Fibbing on the Census about being born Eckington, Or even derbyshire for that matter.

I Do have some children for William and Emma. Their Eldest being William james Nightingale Born 1878 in chesterfield.

Well I had a quick look at Family Search and can see William Nightingale bap. 2 July 1826 at Eckington.

Looking for his children, I get the impression that they weren't very good at registering births. I think you would be best off getting to see the Eckington parish registers which presumably aren't a million miles away from you.

There is a William Nightingale in the 1851 census who is married to an Elizabeth:

NIGHTINGALE, Emily Daughter F 9 1842 Eckington Derbyshire

NIGHTINGALE, Sarah Daughter F 3 1848 Eckington Derbyshire
MORTON, Jane Lodger Unmarried F 22 1829 Eckington Derbyshire
MORTON, Lucey F 1 1850 Eckington Derbyshire

Going back to 1841, there is a William Nightingale born in 1827 (same as above) living with his parents , the only problem is that it says he is born outside of Derbyshire.

Also Ecclesall Bierlow is the otherside of the county.

Could this have been Williams first wife?

If the death Pamela found is Williams first wife, this is probably her burial
