Has anyone had any reason to research any members of the Hobart family in Suffolk?
I have a Hobart family in Haughley, Sfk in 1700's, but cannot locate anyone else researching them, and am at a loss to know where they came from.
Haughley PR's appear hard to get!
Any help appreciated.

Hi Michael
You can buy microfiche copies of parish registers from Suffolk Record Office:
http://www.
suffolk.gov.uk/LeisureAndCulture/LocalHistoryAndHeritage/SuffolkRecordOffice/Services/ParishRegisterCopyingService.htm
The registers for Haughley St Mary for 1557-1900 take up 28 fiches. I haven't studied the blurb closely so don't know if you have to buy all 28.

Hello Michael,
I have had a look at the Suffolk Poll books for 1710 and 1790 for Hobarts in Haughley, but there were none, I'm afraid.

Thanks Jan,
That's odd, because there are 9 burials recorded for Hobart between 1690 & 1778, according to the burial index (FMP). Their name was sometimes recorded as Hubbard, just to confuse the issue. I think a trip to the LDS might be the next move!
