    Default Football managers

Most of the news tonight seemed to be about football managers. Are these stories really worth top billing in the national news?

It is a good job you do not live in New Zealand - whenever we achieve anything remotely associated with sport its headline news and then covered again in the sports section - drives me mad!!!

David, that must be rather like the blasted Olympics that are shoved down our throats here in the south-east every single night on the local news.

The latest scandal is that the 11 million tickets are going to be printed in some town in Arkansas, USA, and flown over. Not being produced by one of the many capable printers in this country. What became of the (hollow) promise that the Games would bring jobs and prosperity to this country?

Alternatively you could have headlines on Syria, Argentina or the cold weather...

Have to say one of our friends used to be a football manager for quite a big club and eventually was sacked, but his wife used to say I wish he still played as the stress, hassle etc of being the manager wasn't worth it and on top of that the press often have it in for you too. I'm sure a lot of them would rather they weren't top billing in the news stories too. Just the other side of the coin!

Sorry to say this but I think football is overrated. I support Spurs (please no rivalry jokes now). I have been to the stadium a few times. I dont mind footie but you can get too much of it and I dont fret if I miss a match on TV. It is not one of my strongest interests.
