    Default William Hooker born circa 1844

    Hi,

    I am struggling to find the birth record of the following:

    William Hooker Born circa 1844, Married to Lucy Bird in 1868. According to the 1871 census he was born on hte Isle of Wight. RG10 Piece 666Folio 128 Page 20 refers.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    I think you will find his birth if you search FreeBMD or alternatively the Isle of Wight birth index.

    Edit: In the Isle of Wight index, the entry for William HOOKER has SCOTT in the 'Other surnames' column and in case you are wondering, this is likely to be the mum's maiden name. There is a potential sibling in the index - name of Emily HOOKER; other surname is also SCOTT.
