    Default Wellingborough workhouse

    Hi

I have been researching the Jolley family from Ecton, Northants and found that EmiklyJolley b @ 1859 was in there in 1881 along with 2 of her children, son Joseph b @ 1881 died in the workhouse and a daughter Clara Elizabeth was born there. Are the any records I can access online regarding her admission and discharge. It appears that Emily had 4 children illegitimately prior to her marriage to George Leonard and would love any info on her life

    Hello marinerescue,

    Welcome to Brit-Gen.

I won't categorically say that that there are no workhouse records online for any workhouse, but they are certainly few and far between.
    http://www.
workhouses.org.uk/Wellingborough/ (you have to fit the two parts of the URL together as we are not allowed to five a direct line to a commercial site) has various records covering the years in which you are interested. However I think you might only be able to access them by going to Northamptonshire Record Office.
