where has arthur gone?

Hi

I am franticly trying to find my grandmothers lost father. He dissapered without a trace when she was nine.
My grandmother was born in 1948. Her mother who was Margaret isabella raine born in 1910 in newcastle upon tyne northumberland and died in 1983 in chichester but married arthur harry walsh im not sure when they married. must have been my grandmother was born in 1948 where my grandmother was born and bought up in beckingham, kent. please could you help me as my grandmother has not long left and it is something she has always wanted to do before she goes. I have made a promise to find where he went when he died and if he remarried. she thinks he may have gone back to ireland as he was irish. many thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have looked at marriages 1930 -1955 for Raine + Walsh and the only one to show up is in 1953 Georgina M Raine to Peter F Walsh.

Have you got your grandmother's birth certificate? If so does it give her father's name as we do not seem to be able to find a marriage that fits the names that you have given.

The only marriage I can find is for 1949 in Northumberland - Margaret Raine to a ? Maddock.

Was she married twice do you know? She could have been and never told your grandma.

I've just found these 2 entries -

Margaret I Raine Married ? Dauber 1928 in Durham

Margaret I Raine Married ? Cowan 1928 in Northumberland

Thank you all for looking. Yes my grandmothers birth certificate says he was called Arthur Harry Walsh and was a motor machanic. He also had is own garage in beckingham. My grandmothers Mother Margaret Isabella raine only married Arthur. But he must of married again maybe in Ireland?
