Default Trouble with finding a family in 1841 census

The daughter of my 4X Gt-grandfather [Samuel] was named Elizabeth Rowledge. She was baptised on October 11, 1807 in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.

She married Thomas Wager in Fulham All Saints, Middlesex on May 31, 1830, after Banns. The names of the witnesses mean nothing to me at the moment.

2 children from this marriage are Thomas and Charles.
Thomas was baptized in Kensington on October 13, 1833 and Charles was baptised on May 10, 1836 also in Kensington. From the records available I know these are correct as the grandfather Samuel is also named.

Charles died age 7 and was buried in Kensington on September 11, 1843 and Thomas died aged 15 and was buried in Islington St. Mary on February 5 1847. The source for these is - London England Deaths and Burials 1813-1980.

Of the 4 the only that I think I have found is Thomas age 8. He is listed as a Pauper at the Grove House, Brixton St. Mary. The other 3 I cannot find.

I do have the family in 1851 and later with a child named Elizabeth and 3 others at 15 Silver Street, Kensington along with a Servant. Thomas Wager is indicated as a Plasterer by Trade. tisElizabeth was aged about 10 at the time of the census in 1851.

I think it would be logical that the family would be in Kensington in 1841 and that the Thomas I found in the 1841 census, at the Grove House, is not mine since it would appear his father had a qualified trade.

    Suggestions please

    Colin

I can't find them either. It may be that the family were living in the part of Kensington that (according to FMP) is missing.

They were on Silver Street in 1851, 1861 and 1871. Thomas died in 1877.

Their daughter Elizabeth was born at the end of 1840. I don't have her borth certificate.

If Silver Street, Kensingron was part of what is missing from the census records for 1841 then this would make sense as to why we cannot find them.

I don't have the death certificate for the Charles that died in Kensington, but on the surface,it looks like he was with the family in 1841.

FMP has no entries for Silver Street in 1841 - I think you can check details of what is missing at TNA

    Thanks - that figures.

TNA will require me to pat for a search to confirm this. I guess.

I also think that I have the wrong Thomas in 1841 at the Grove House. I may have to buy that death certificate just verify his age at death and whether it was 'possible' he was with the family as part of the missing census record.

To be honest, Colin, I didn't remember either. I just googled "Silver Street Kensington" and the thread came up.
