    Default new to site

hello, I have been researching my ancestors for a couple of years. I ran into a roadblock for my paternal great grandmother. My father told me she was born on a ship in the English channel returning from Malta with her mother Nora Harper or harpur, and her sister sarah sometime between 1869- 1870. For whatever reason, they arrived in Boston Massachusetts, according to Ancestry.Com.,on the ship Aleppo on Dec. 27, 1870. The passenger list had their names as Honor Harpur aged 20, Sarah aged 2, and hannah aged 1. 1880 U.S.Census listed Nora H. Andrews in Beverley Mass. with daughters Annie an Sarah Harper. Nora at age 28 from England and her parents from England. Annie was 10 and Sarah was 11 both born in Malta. U.S. Censuses after 1880 listed Annie born at sea. My father also said Annie was born on a troop ship. I checked records of Malta, and found no record of Sarah's birth. My questions are, did Nora's husband accompany her back to the U.K., If so, why didn't he travel with them to Boston? Nora and Mr. Harper must have married in England prior to his deployment because I saw no marriages in Malta bearing their names. My father also said Annie's father was a Bengal Lancer because Annie had one in her basement for years. Summary--- Nora H. unknown married unknown Harper or Harpur around 1867-1868 based on Sarah's birth. The lack of a maiden name for Nora and first name for harper has screwed, and Massachusetts records suck. Any help would be greatly appreciated
