    Looking at the parish records it seems that I am not related to this Thomas (at least not directly) but it does help to eliminate people from my line

    What do you know. Spent all morning ploughing through actual parish records (not transcripts) and it has completly turned my tree over those i thought were ancestors died in infancy and a few new ones cropped up (including some incorrectly transcribed names) which now link me quite strongly with the above Thomas & Ellen. Never trust a transcript! Unless it is by your good friends on BG
