Hello Hank,
What sort of information are you after? What information do you already have? Do you have the marriage certificate? If not, I would suggest that you obtain a copy as it would provide the fathers' names and occupations, the ages of the happy couple (all being well) and thus aid finding them in any earlier censuses.

Could this be him on the 1851 census? ref. HO107/1925/53/30
at North Gate, Bridgewater, Somerset
Joseph Mere age 49 occ. potterer (sic)
Jane Mere age 47 wife
Joseph Mere age 23 son occ. potterer
Jane age 16 daughter at school
John age 13 son occ. potterer
