Default FMP LOOK UP ARMY SERVICE RECORDS 1760-1915

Is there a kind person who may be able to look at the FMP army service record. My grandfathers brother served in the army approx 1908-1912,. His name was George Frederick Foley born 1887 Bristol.
I would like to know the regiment & rank obtained if possible
    Thank you Mike

I cannot find anything on FMP for George Foley, there is a WW1 service record on Ancestry for a George Foley, born Fishponds, Bristol 1887. He declared his occupation as an Iron Moulder. Regimental number 16542 - there are 26 pages of images. It looks like this man died in India in 16/12/1915.

Initially 3rd battalion (a militia battalion) of the Gloucestershire Regiment - as a Private 7/7/1905 - then transferred to Regular Forces - 19/8/1905 - Royal Welsh Fusiliers (having put a year on to his age)

He was posted to 1st battalion 24/11/1905 then 2nd battalion 9/1/1907 and discharged at his own request on payment of GBP25 on 18/8/1910 - all as a Private

Served overseas in India and Burma

Probably worth buying FMP credits to have the full record

Many thanks SueNSW. This clears up a family tale that gave him a higher rank. Will do as you suggest & buy some credits
