As in my Dad's case, the age difference between the first of his siblings and the last one to come along was 21 years. This was beaten by my Mum's side. The youngest was born 23 years after the oldest. Both their parents were only married once. At least they had live in baby sitters. 10 on my Mum's side and 9 on my Dad's. No TV back then
ps. Although, with my Dad's dad's siblings there was a 38 year gap. but my Dad's grandad was married 3 times.

My Dad - as is now known both within the family [and without as info. has been posted on B-G] - was born February 1, 1919.
From that date on until he married on November 30, 1940 he lived with his 'parents' - with the exception of joining the Army. There were 4 older siblings born between April 11, 1898 and December 17, 1907. There were as a result advantages for his 'parents' due to the ages of the other 4. When he was born they were aged 47 and 42 - not an impossible situation!!
His 'mother' died in 1949 and his 'father' in 1950.
It was after the death of his 'father' that the 2 male 'siblings' informed my Dad that, contrary to what he had belived for over 30 years, their parents were not his parents. He was the illegitimate son of their eldest sister!!!
Imagine my Dad's reaction - will you!!!
? I don't think so
Colin

Scary stuff. I have managed to get back on ONE line to Constantine. (... Just kidding ... actually 1795 via a will.)
As to Facebook I don't mind it at all but almost all my 'friends' are things ... State Library of NSW, Museum of London, the V & A, Lost Newcastle, Lost Sydney, etc. I doubt I will be considering OneGreatfamily.
Jane who absolutely isn't an idiot.

I ditched my FB account, I found it so intrusive. Add to that the spurious rubbish that some 'friends' post, like I'm sitting down with a sandwich right now[list of contents] etc etc. I emailed all my friends and said if they want to communicate with me, the have my mail address. So glad I did it QED

I had to laugh reading this. Unless you were nobility, there rarely was any sort of record. Of course, I descend from King Arthur myself. (kidding) I am back to the early 1700's on all lines, both Spanish and English. One English line in Cumbria is back to the very late 1600's cuz they had money and position. And I got someone to translate the Latin. French or Spanish OK, but not Latin.
Have fun with your 50 generations......ROFL!!Heather
