    Default Birth/Death...I'm assuming here

Not sure if I am missing the forest through the trees or my research talent needs improving.

    Here is the latest:

A good while back I had been given information from the 1911 Census that my Grandfather Sydney Joseph Belger was living with his Aunt/Uncle/Cousins (the Benbow Family). Knowing that his parents didn't pass until much later, I could never figure out why. Now I think I know. Just did a search of the 1911 Census (on another site) for my G-Grandparents Joseph and Mary Frances Belger. It shows them living in Liverpool with Mary's Mother, Lucy. What I see here is something that I had NEVER known. The number children born alive shows a 2! Number of children living 1. I never knew that there would have been a sibling for my grandfather! This could also explain why he was living with relatives!! Though, it's just a guess. What I am having a hard time finding is a birth and/or death record. Since this is all just an assumption my best guess is that the baby was either sick at that time or had died at that time. I've come up with nothing!

Any suggestions on where or how to look for this information? Any Sherlocks out there willing to pass along any secrets? Should I not even be assuming this is the case?

    This could be Sydney's sibling:

    Births Mar 1908
    Belger Annie Liverpool 8b 83

    Deaths Jun 1910
    BELGER Annie 2 W. Derby 8b 290

West Derby covers a lot of Liverpool or did at that time.

There is one other possibility as well as RobinC's Annie which is:

William Belger: Born West Derby RD. Jun Q 1906. Vol.8b, page 598

William Belger: Died West Derby RD. Dec Q 1906. Vol.8b, page 396

The best way is to order the birth certificates putting Joseph & Mary Frances as the parents, it will initially cost you £18.50 but you will get a refund if neither birth matches the parents names.

    Hi

A census is only a snapshot of where a person was on a particular night and doesn't necessarily mean that a person was living there. The could be a simple explanation as to why your grandfather was at his aunts in the 1911 census.
