Default Alexander Ross b.15/3/1878 West Calder, SCOT

After searching for many years I have not been able to find where my Grt/Uncle Alexander ROSS went to.
Alexander married 31/3/1910 at Wemyss, Fife, SCT to Catherine Welsh b.164/1873(Wemyss, Fife, SCT). I have found a daughter Catherine Wishart Ross b.1912 at Wemyss,Fife, SCT.
Alexander was a Coal-miner & lived in the Rosie Cottages there.Alexander's father Alexander Brown Ross died
29/1/1923 at 8 Front St,Mossend, West Calder,SCT & on the Death Certificate the informant was Alexander Ross(Son) of Rosie Cottage by Buckhaven, Fife, SCT. I have not been able to find anymore about the family except I did find on Scotland's People a Death for daughter Catherine Wishart Ross (d 1988) St.Andrew,Edinburgh, SCT which i feel will be their daughter. I have spent a lot of time & money with Scotland's People to find their deaths but with no luck, so they must have left the Scotland at sometime after 1923. My Grandfather John Borthwick Ross was his brother & he bought all his Family to New Zealand in 1922.
Would really appreciate any suggestions as to where to look next.
    Thanks, Janice Gardner New Zealand

    Hello and welcome

Googling I found this site - Friends from the Wemyss - which mentions Ross family living at Rosie Cottages in the 1950s and has a photograph. Might be worth contacting them.

    Hello again
Fife Archive Centre hold Electoral Registers . The ref no seems to be FC/AS/1. The registers themselves are not online but it may be worth contacting the Archive centre.

    Hi Janice

if you join up the two lines on the link I gave it should take you to it - or try googling Rosie Terrace Friends of the Wemyss.

    Hope you find it!

Sorry to hear that. I didn't have access to the photo but guess it may be of residents of Rosie Terrace outside their homes - but maybe it's just a picture of the houses.. I hope someone on the site can help you out.
