First of all some background - my 2X gt-Grandfather was John Jory born 1828 in St. Allen, Cornwall. He was the youngest of 4 children born to Jane Jory. Each child of Jane had a different father and she never married.

Her 1st child was named Mary Perry Jory. According to her baptism, which occurred April 21, 1816, her father was named as George Perry. He was a farm labourer and at the time of Mary's baptism, was in Bodmin Jail. I have not found out why he was in jail at that time!!

Looking for possible other convictions or data on George has found the following:
A George Perry Junr. was convicted of Larceny at the January sessions in Cornwall and was sentenced to 30 months.

I wonder if this is the same George as was the the father of Jane's 1st child?
