    Default London Electoral Rolls online

Some London electoral rolls are now available on Ancestry.

    London Electoral Registers, 1835-1965

These appear to have been OCR scanned, so you may need to be inventive with search strategies.

An initial search shows the usual sorts of errors by Ancestry in locating and describing parliamentary divisions/boroughs, so it's probably best to enter minimum search data and then sift the results.

For guidance on who could vote and when, you may find this .pdf leaflet useful.

    Have fun.

Does the collection only list the head of the household as there appears to only be one person listed for each household.

For my searches I have found all my Fanning's up to 1937 - spouse of Reginald George and sisters of Alfred Digby.

The registers list all those entitled to vote. Historically, this often was only the head. The head wasn't necessarily entitled to vote. You may notice the wife appearing in 1921.

PS Thank you, Kerrywood, for the alert.

    Fine for me, as well.

I'm busy updating residences for my folks of the past. Just wish I could find who they worked for
