I haver the following letter which I take to be that of William Stanton. I have translated some of it but I am stuck on the last bits. The letter is here.
and this is my translation so far. I think I have got some bits wrong and I definitely don't know others.
Nevertheless there hath been two wills made of the estate and not in favour of the Stantons but the wills could have no effect as no fine(?) had ever been passed to ban the entail. Consequently Isaac Stanton of Kenilworth in the county of Warwick was the last in the possession of the estates and left no issue. His brother Thos Stanton died at Maproud(?) in Bilston and left no male issue the [estate] then decended to Richard Stanton of Walsall but owing to extreme poverty he never route(?) came into possession of there lawful estates and at death of Richard the son ther[of] made a claim of the estates and spent a a large sum of money in endeavouring to recover theres (these). But owing to the treachery of his attyo [attorney] was not able to accomplish his lawful rights and so me his brother William has become the sacrfist [sacrificed?] heir and this Christian country has it be termed
I hope therefore some good gentleman left that with give that freemiary assistance so as to establish him in his lawful rights.

Thanks Olliecat
It does look like "yet" but "not" seems to fit the context. "since" seems better than "so me" as I thought.
