Default Looking for Marriage of Elizabeth Mary Bray

I have been looking for the marriage in 1896 of the above lady and found her in the Apr-Jun q.1896 in Helston [possibly St.Keverne]

Ancestry has her transcribed as marrying either Edwin Dally or Francis Jenkin - vol. 5c. page 261
Not finding her with either in 1901 on census, I also checked for Immigration as several of her siblings ended up in Boston, Mass. but nothing there either.

Putting it to one side for a while, I then decided to pursue her on FMP and she is there as well - same q. and year as well as Helston.

FMP has 3 ladies and 2 men transcribed - vol. 5c page 281

The other 2 ladies were Mary Albertha Davies and Sarah Polglase
The 2 men were Emanuel Rowe and James Henry Trethowan

Short of odering under both reference #'s what can I do to determine who she married?

Thank you both for your posts. Not only have you saved me money, it also recognizes that the Elizabeth who married in 1896 is not the one I want.

My Elizabeth Mary was the born in St. Keverne abt. 1870. I cannot find a birth registration or baptism, but she does appear with her parents and siblings in the 1871 census - aged 8 months - at Porthalloe. Her parents were William Henry and Mary Jane. Her father was a Miller. Her siblings in 1871 were Nicholas John, Alice Ann and Susan Jane.

In 1881 the family is in Sithney. William Henry is still a Miller. Nicholas and Alice Ann are not in the household - they would be 16 and 15 respectively - Nicholas I haven't found after 1871 and Alice Ann was working as a General Servant in St. Keverne. In 1885 she married Thomas J. Hall and by 1897 they had 8 children. She died in 1938. Susan Jane is still there and as well there are 4 more siblings - Belinda, Bessie, William and Laura.

In 1891 Elizabeth is a Domestic servant at the home of the Vicar of St. Keverne.

And that endeth my detail of Elizabeth Mary.

On a public tree on Ancestry, there is a possible marriage to a Mr. John Hollow Cocking and residing in [possibly] Gill, Mass. U.S.A. I am aware that several of her siblings ended up in Mass. in the early 1900's but passenger lists for Boston, supply very little detail so she may have been listed under her initials E.M and an Adult.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Slightly off-topic, I've advised FMP of the incorrect page number they have for Elizabeth.

Thank you, RonOne - I've given them the link to the PR as proof of who she married, and that therefore she has to be on the same page number in the GRO Index as Edwin Dally.

    Hi RonOne.
What you found in the above posts and in the priv. mess. were absolutely brilliant. My grateful thanks, seems insignificant.

As for William Henry's occupation, I'll take a wild guess - Miller - seeing as that was how he was defined by occupation in future census records. Without knowing that, then my guess would have been as good as yours.

    Hi Colin,

Do you know which parish Alice Ann's marriage took place in?

There is a possible marriage for Nicholas in 1887:

    Marriages Jun 1887
    BRAY Nicholas John - Helston 5c 319
    Possible spouses are:
    JOHNS Mary Ann
    TREMAYNE Elizabeth Jane
