Father Fred William Drayton d. 6th Oct 1936 Goosehole Cottages, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. (Administration - to Jessie Morzella (daughter) Havercroft wife of Thomas Dishman Havercroft and Dorothy May (daughter) Ford wife of Fred Ford Effects £929 17s 3d) Would there be a will?
James Lewis Drayton b. Dec qtr 1891 Fordingham, Lincolnshire. D. 31st Oct 1936 Scunthorpe War Memorial Hospital, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.
I’d like to know who benefited from his death as I don’t have a marriage for James. He was 1 of 7 children.

James left £231, 11s and 4d to Jessie Morzella Havercroft and Dorothy May Ford.
His last address was 2 High Street, Scunthorpe.

£1200 from 1936 is multiplied immensely in today's money so they seem to have had a bit of spare change!

It certainly is, considering what Fred did for a living and having 7 children to bring up.
James left a tidy sum for the age he died at, 45.
James was the only son, the other 6 children were girls.
I’m not sure what Fred’s share of his fathers money was. His father had died 12 years earlier and nobody knows what he was worth. It was said that all his children got a share and there were 15 children and a wife to think of.
My grandfather was one of them but refused his share due to a family bust up. My grandfather had married beneath him apparently.
