Zincke?

HI posting on behalf of a friend, we are looking for the marriage of a William Zincke to a Maria Theresa ? in bombay india in the mid 1850s 1st child born in 1856 and he was in the 3rd bombay european regiment, we have looked in the british library and can't see a marriage record and wondered if the surname was jewish and if so were their marriage records kept seperately? any help or advice very gratefully received!!

I've looked at marriages in India on Family Search and although I've not found the marriage you're looking for I did find one that might well be connected to your man:

Bride: Eliza Maria Zincke
Brides Age: 17 (YOB abt. 1861)
Groom: William Charles Whitten
Brides Father: William Christian Zincke
Date: 07 Mar 1878

Hi Helen, from the FIBIS website there are these entries.
From the Bombay Almanac, William Zincke Bombay city mission, burial 1864 at Fort George Bombay aged 48 years.
And from the Times of India there is a death notice for his son William Christian Zinke aged 7 years and 9 months who died August 1870.(All from the FIBIS Website).
