I am looking for information (exact birth and 2nd marriage dates) on John Tagg b: abt 1761 in Thames Ditton. John Tagg is my gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather.
I would also like to find out for certain who his parents were. He married twice, first to Susanna Crouch (m: 3 Feb 1777, Esher) and then to Susannah Silvester, who had been previously married to Richard Saunders.
In addition to John's parentage, I would like to know if there is a record of the first wife's death - it would have occurred between 1782, when her last child was born, and 1786, when John married his second wife in Southwark.
Susannah Silvester (b: 23 Jan 1763, Mitcham) had a child by her first husband (m: 11 Aug 1782, Mitcham) by the name of Liddy Saunders (b: 3 Jun 1783, Beddington). I have no further information on Liddy. I would like to know if she ever married and when she died.
Thank you so much to anyone who can help!

Did you know that there is a Tagg's Island in the Thames near Thames Ditton?

Hello DebbieAnn,
I hope this may help.
IGI Pilot Search has a burial at Merton, Surrey for a Lydia SAUNDERS on 30th July 1851. It might be worth a look, Merton is just down the road from Mitcham and Beddington. It would mean she was in her late sixties and unmarried when she died.
